and get stretched,
you wretch!

We'll make you suffer.
You unproductive old duffers.

We'll strip your soul
like so much '70s wallpaper
to reveal
yet more '70s wallpaper.

We'll steal your essence.
We'll steal your pets.
We'll put your ostrich
in an oubliette.
And as for the goose
that lays the golden eggs,
we'll pluck its feathers for our quills
to write a million bad cheques.

That beautiful beak
would make a great paperweight.
