Knotweed

You're uncalled for,
Like the WI in thigh boots and leather,
Or The Boomtown Rats getting back together.

You're as unwanted
As the drones and old crones on a Lonely Hearts page,
As a surprise appearance by Nicolas Cage.

You're unwelcome,
Like a body that turns up in the bath,
Or a party invitation from a psychopath
(Which you are by the way
I'm sorry to say).

You turn up at odd times and places,
Where there's just no need.
You get in every nook and cranny,
Like Japanese knotweed.

You're undelightful and unlovely,
A human pestilence like no other.
Woman, why must you plague me?
Just give me some space will you Mother?
