Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee - I'm A Burnt Child (And I'm Afraid of Fire)

Blues harmonica doesn't get any better than this. I like to have a bit of a blow myself from time to time when the mood takes me, but I can only dream of having a zillionth of Sonny's skill. And no-one could ever emulate his whooping and hollering. It's wonderful to watch someone so immersed in their performance and so full of joy, even when singing the blues. Sonny and Brownie weren't the best of pals that their stage patter suggested, but they were one of the truly great musical partnerships, up there with Nancy and Lee, Simon and Garfunkel and Hoddle unt Waddle.
