He is "total chef"

A stoat in full winter plumage

Walking across the patio

naked save for a pair of oven gloves

and monged on strongbow dark fruits

A steaming saucepan in his hands

thoughts of gastronomic conquest

bringing him to a rolling boil

He trips on an uneven flag stone

goes down and hits the deck

His head cracks like an egg

The sous-chef steps up to the sharing platter

to deliver the last rites

sprinkles him

with finishing vinegars
