What Didn't Happen at Alderaan

Today we went to

Alderaan Wetland Garden

where it rained like a bitch.

(I do beg your pardon.)

 

Natterer's bats

 (any bats in fact),

looking like wingèd Basil Brushes on crack,

were conspicuous by their complete lack.

 

I knocked on some trees.

It was a total waste of time.

It transpired the red squirrels

were all out of town.

 

Buzzards hovered at a distance

before buzzing off

in slo-mo boredom.

The thing was an absolute wash out, I tell thee.

 

It was as much as the pond skaters

could manage, to flit

hither and thither;

the filthy little insect shits.

 

Today we went to

Alderaan Wetland Garden.

We saw wet

and we got nothing.

 

I simply can't wait

to go back again.
